Knox

MALE | BORN MAY 2011 | LABRADOR X

LOCATED IN AUCKLAND

Hi, I’m Knox. I’m an endearing 13-year-old male black lab cross, living with my foster family in Auckland.

I was sitting in the pound, feeling very lonely – then some lovely people took me home.

I haven’t been with my foster family long, but they’re GREAT.

And guess what? They love playing fetch as much as I do!

Yep, someone taught me that game once, and I remember well.

My foster mum says fetch really brings out my inner pup!

When I’m ready to play, I’ll give her a bark, to let her know.

Oh, we have a great time, playing games together.

When she’s tired and needs a rest, that’s when I’ll drop a toy on her lap… to make one last attempt to keep the fun going!

But, when my foster mum says no, I’m fine about it. I’ll just take myself off for a nap in the sun instead.

I’m a pretty cruisy guy to have round the place – unless you leave me unsupervised with a toy… then it’s time to get shredding – woohoo!

Yep, the toy drive’s strong in me.

In fact, just the other day, my foster mum showed me a toy in one hand and a treat in the other.

Guess which I chose? The toy, of course!

My foster mum says, since being here, I’m really growing in confidence.

I’m LOVING the head scratches on offer here. I’ll even give a gentle nudge after and try my luck for a second round!

I currently live with another doggy, called Eric. He’s half my age.

We get along ok but, to be honest, I’m just happy playing games with my foster mum. That’s the BEST part of my day.

My foster mum says she’s not sure how I’d be living with cats, since I haven’t met any since we’ve been together.

I’m a sweet guy, she says. It’s true! I’m grateful for the smallest of things and really don’t ask for much at all.

Throw me a stick to fetch and we’ll be fast friends!

If I sound like the kind of guy that you’d enjoy sharing your days with, I’d love to meet you.

Can't adopt Knox? You can still help.

Although we charge a small adoption fee, this doesn't generally cover the costs of us getting our dogs ready for adoption. Desexing, grooms, vet care, vaccinations, registration, training and variety of other things can go into these dogs. If you'd like to help either on a one off or regular basis we would be grateful for your donation.
